Another funny story from an award-winning author.
Like most other kids his age, it isn't always easy for Tom Gates to make up his mind about some things, like for example, what breakfast cereal to have in the morning. But now it seems that he might have to do it fast.
It's getting close to the annual car boot sale, and Tom's mother is determined to tidy up the whole house, including Tom's room.
Tom's mother says that if Tom can't decide what he wants to keep or sell, she'll make the decisions for him, and that's something Tom's very nervous about!
Will Tom be able to make up his mind (and save his comic collection)? And will he ever find out why his grumpy older sister Delia has suddenly started locking her bedroom door?
If your kids are fans of books like Diary of a Wimpy Kid, they'll enjoy this story. There are lots of books in this series (15 so far), and this is the eighth in the series.
Just like the other books in the series, there are lots of funny characters, like Tom's classroom teacher Mr Fullerman (who has very beady eyes and can see everything that Tom is up to), and Tom's Granny Mavis (who enjoys making lots of creative, though not always edible, food for Tom and his family).
And as well as the main story, Tom also recounts lots of other funny stories from his life, like when his band practice (Tom and his friends Derek and Norman are in their own amateur rock band called Dogzombies) gets interrupted by Derek's dad (who's a fan of classic rock bands).
Also, just like the rest of the books in this series, there are lots of Tom's drawings and creative doodles (some even as a double-page spread), like the drawings in his sketchbook of what Delia might look like as an alien.
?
Overall, this is another funny story from a talented author, perfect for fans of this series.
