A fun story featuring a very different type of wolf.

New Zealand illustrator Paul Beavis is a well-known name among parents with his work alongside Deano Yipadee with the sing-along stories Jingle Bells, Rudolph Smells, Nee-Naw the Little FIre Engine and Stink-o-Saurus.

Now, in his first book for young readers, Paul presents an entertaining story about a very different type of wolf.

Everyone knows what wolves are normally like. They are very scary, have sharp teeth, eat sheep, and enjoy howling at the moon.

But when a little girl comes across a strange creature claiming to be a wolf, she doesn't know what to make of him.

He doesn't have sharp teeth, enjoys eating homemade aubergine salad with crumbled feta, and plays the violin instead of howling at the moon.

But when the little girl decides to make him into what she thinks a 'real' wolf is, she ends up with a big surprise...

If your kids have read any of Paul's other books, they'll enjoy this one.

Children will enjoy reading about all the things that the girl does to try and turn her new friend into a proper wolf, from taking him to the barber to get his fur cut, having him lift weights at the gym, and most important of all, trying to teach him to go 'GRRR!" like a real wolf does.

There's also a lot to enjoy for parents as well, as they'll appreciate the book's positive messages about tolerance and not judging people based on previous expectations, which are both good lessons for kids to learn.

Overall, this is a fun read-aloud story with a positive message, and perfect for fans of Paul and his work.
