Jack Courtney is back, and in seriously deep water...
Note: This book is recommended for readers aged 13 and over.
Reasons: Violence and mature themes
Jack Courtney and his friends Amelia and Xander are on an underwater treasure hunt in Zanzibar. But when their diving boat winds up being captured by a ruthless Somalian pirate crew, who intend to sell the trio as child soldiers, Jack becomes determined to find a way to escape...
As a spin-off series from WIlbur's iconic Courtney dynasty in his adult novels, this latest adventure has it all, exotic locations, unexpected twists, and of course, dangerous villains.
There are plenty of exciting action sequences that you'll enjoy reading about as well, such as when Jack attempts to sabotage the pirates' boat by contaminating their only fuel supply.
And of course, just like Wilbur's previous young adult novel (Cloudburst), there is also a strong environmental message, as Jack plans to put the treasure proceeds towards protecting the oceans.
If you've already read about Jack's adventures in Africa in Cloudburst, you'll enjoy this story, the second in Wilbur's Jack Courtney series.
Overall, this is an excting adventure thriller set in Somalia's deadly waters, and a perfect choice for fans of this genre.
