A gripping prison-break story, set in a future where technology rules all.

Note: This book is recommended for readers aged 16 and over.

Reasons: Violence, strong language and mature themes.

Set in a dystopian future where technology rules everything, Luka Kane has spent over two years isolated in the computer-controlled prison known as the Loop. But when his tightly-controlled routine begins to change, and rumours of an uprising start spreading throughout the prison, Luka realises his only chance of survival is if he escapes.

Breaking out won't be easy though, as the Loop has lots of futuristic defences, from drones that can shoot inmates full of poison, to the remote-activated detonator that was sewn into Luka's heart when he arrived.

However, there are some human elements still present in this hi-tech world, most notably Wren, the sympathetic prison warden who visits Luka's cell every day.

There are also plenty of exciting action sequences too, such as when Luka attempts to escape by overpowering a guard and stealing his weapon.

If you're a fan of dystopian novels such as the Hunger Games series, you'll enjoy this story, the first in a brand-new series.

Overall, this is a suspence filled novel from a new name in teenage fiction, and the start of a promising new series.
