London's fate hangs in the balance in Alex Rider's latest mission.
Note: This book is recommended for readers aged 13 and over.
Reasons: Violence and mature themes.
After 12 successful missions with MI6, fifteen-year-old Alex Rider wants nothing more than to go back to having a normal life. But when a mission in Brazil goes wrong and an MI6 agent ends up dead, Alex must race against time to stop a shadowy organisation known only as Nightshade.
If you're a fan of Anthony's bestselling Alex Rider series, you'll enjoy this one, the latest book featuring MI6's most reluctant agent.
MI6 have certainly put Alex through the wringer (as well as almost getting him killed many times) since his first mission with them, and this one is no different, as Alex must go undercover as a dangerous criminal in order to find out Nightshade's master plan.
Even though this is a spy story, there aren't any Aston Martins or hi-tech gadgets this time, but there is still heaps of action, including karate, explosions, and parachute jumps.
There's also plenty of Anthony's signature humour as well, such as when a man is poisoned by muffins made from flour, eggs, milk, butter, chocolate...and cyanide.
Overall, this is another explosive, action-packed book in a popular series, and perfect if you're a fan of Alex and his missions.
