Another action-packed entry in Robert's popular series
Note: This book is recommended for readers aged 16 and over.
Reasons: Violence, offensive language, sexual references and drug references.
The seedy underworld of Britain is controlled by a violent street gang known as the Slasher Boys. When they trigger a violent and explosive turf war against their rivals the Mad Dogs, CHERUB sends in a handful of agents, including James Adams, on a highly dangerous mission to try and take down both gangs from the inside.
If you have a Robert Muchamore fan in your house, they're bound to enjoy this story from him. There are 16 books in total in Robert's bestselling series, and this is the eighth.
Just like with the other books in this series, there are heaps of cool action sequences, like street fights and break-ins, that teens will enjoy reading about.
There is also plenty of Robert's trademark sense of humour throughout the story as well, like when James gets bitten in an embarrassing place by a snake, which teens will enjoy as well.
The only thing that might put new readers off however, is that it takes a long while for the action to really get going, but I don't think that will be much of a problem if teens already know this series.
Overall this is another action-packed story from a talented YA writer, and a great choice for fans of this series.
