The newest knight of Castletown is...a dragon?
Dave is a terrible dragon - he can't do any of the things other dragons can do! When he finds a singed copy of Knighthood for Beginners, he discovers what he really wants to be. With the help of his trusty steed (a talking goat), will Dave be able to make his knightly dreams come true?
If you're into authors like David Walliams, you'll enjoy this story, the first in a new series from this author
There are a lot of funny characters in this story to help Dave on his quest, including Sir Ironpants (winner of Rear of the Year in 1536) and a bearded lady with her own dream of becoming a doctor.
There is also plenty of Elys' trademark humour throughout the book, such as the fact that all dragons must be skilled at knitting (even though no-one really understands why).
Elys is also a talented illustrator, so there are heaps of funny, detailed pictures throughout the story, such as when all the knights are busy preparing for a royal tournament.
Overall this is an exciting medieval adventure, with a lot of humour and fun illustrations, and a great first effort by this author.
