Andy's back, and in this collection of stories, he really gets gross
If you’re a parent, you would most likely have heard about Australian author Andy Griffiths, and his wildly popular children’s book series about he and Terry’s crazy adventures in their amazing, ever-expanding treehouse.
But what you might not know is that well before then, Andy made a name for himself with his Just series of books, set way back when he was just a kid, and landing himself in all kinds of trouble.
In this collection, Andy spends all of the nine stories (which sometimes involve his best friend Danny), getting involved in even more crazy situations, including attempting to get rid of his Brussel sprouts so he won’t have to eat them (you won’t believe how much Andy hates Brussel sprouts), trying to convince his parents to let him stay up all night, and getting trapped in the bath with two mysterious brown blobs.
If your kids have read any of Andy and Terry’s other books, they’ll enjoy this one. There are eight stories in total in this series, and this one is the fifth.
As the title suggests, there are lots of disgusting moments in the stories which kids will enjoy both laughing at and getting grossed out by, like when Andy tries to get rid of a Brussel sprout by putting it down his Action Man undies, or when Andy’s dog Sooty vomits in the kitchen, eats it, and then vomits it back up again.
Also, there aren’t just normal stories in this book, but also comics, poems, a play (performed by the dead flies on Andy’s windowsill), and even a list of 101 of the most disgusting things Andy can think of, which kids will enjoy as well.
And of course, it wouldn’t be an Andy Griffiths story without Terry’s illustrations, which are everywhere and include new adventures from Mr Scribble, and more antics from the page number animal (which is a rubber duck this time).
Overall, this is another crazy collection of stories, with a lot of disgusting humour, and perfect for fans of Andy and his misadventures.
