Presenting the one-man rolling comedy show, it's Jamie Grimm!
Confined to a wheelchair after a tragic accident, Jamie Grimm has just one dream: to be the world's first 'sit-down comedian'. When he decides to enter The Planet's Funniest Kid Contest, will Jamie be able to overcome his older brother's bullying, and his own insecurities, and still bring down the house?
If you've read any of James Patterson's other children's novels, you'll enjoy this one. There are six stories featuring Jamie Grimm so far, and this one is the first.
Jamie has to be one of the funniest characters that James has created, and there are heaps of funny jokes, puns, and a few groan-inducing one-liners, throughout the story.
Of course, it also helps that Jamie's life gives him plenty of material, from his stone-faced adopted family (who Jamie nicknames the Smileys because they never laugh or smile), to the 'zombies' (otherwise known as the morning commuters) that Jamie sees on his way to school each day.
It isn't all laughs though, as Jamie has a serious side too, such as when he's remembering what life was like before his accident.
Overall, this is a very funny story with a lot of heart, and perfect if you're a fan of James Patterson and his Middle School world.
