A historical, hysterical adventure story.
Champion Roman gladiator Julius Zebra’s got himself into trouble again. This time, after his ship gets washed up on the shores of Egypt during a storm, he is mistaken for the Egyptian horse god Heter (even though he’s a zebra).
Julius and his friends soon find themselves living the high life in Egypt, but when Felix takes a sacred gem from a pharaoh’s tomb to add to his rock collection, will the Egyptians realise the truth about their so-called ‘god’?
If you’re a fan of historical adventures, you’ll enjoy this story.
Julius is very funny as the big-headed, dim-witted, accidental king of Egypt, and his friends are equally crazy, especially Julius’s brother Brutus, who thinks he should get to be king as well.
Also, there are some real facts about Egyptian culture, such as how they used hieroglyphics (or hyper-glue sticks as Julius calls them), and a bonus section at the end about how to use them to write your own name.
Overall, this is an exciting, funny and educational adventure story, best suited for children 7 to 10 years.
