It's Elephant's birthday party, and fun is on the menu.
New Zealand songwriter and author Craig Smith has become a big name both here and around the world, especially with his award-winning cumulative song The Wonky Donkey. Now, Craig has another book out, along with another silly and catchy song to go with it!
It's Elephant's birthday party, and there's plenty to eat, from yummy green peas (just be careful not to 'pea' on the floor!), to pizza with lots of cheese. But where will all this food come out in the end? (I'll give you a clue, it isn't where you think!).
If you and your kids have read and listened to any of Craig's other songs before, you'll enjoy this one.
Just like with his previous songs, Craig has a lot of fun with the different foods the guests are eating, ranging from healthy foods like bananas (that make everyone act like a big monkey), to gross 'food' like boogers (which get Elephant into trouble when he tries to feed them to his brother).
There are also lots of funny pictures by the talented illustrator Scott Tulloch (who has worked with Craig before) that kids will enjoy too, from the monkey with spaghetti coming out of his nose, to the elephant sitting on the toilet after having spicy curry.
And as always, the book also comes with a CD of Craig doing the song, as well as a bonus track of Craig performing it live at Queenstown Primary School (with some help from the student audience).
Overall, this is another great sing-along story from a talented duo, perfect for fans of Craig and his songs.
