The pigeon can't drive the bus, but just try telling him that...
At the start of the story, the bus driver tells us that he needs to leave for a while, and that you're in charge until he returns. There's just one rule: the pigeon isn't allowed to drive the bus! However, when the pigeon shows up right after the bus driver leaves, it becomes clear that this task is much easier said than done!
Told entirely in speech bubble dialogue aimed at the reader, this is a fun read-aloud story with a lot of interactive appeal.
Pigeon is willing to do anything to get behind the wheel, from suggesting a game of 'Drive the Bus' (he'll go first), to claiming that his cousin Harry gets to drive a bus almost every day.
Mo also pulls double duty as the illustrator too, with his simple (but highly expressive) pictures of the pigeon and bus driver.
If you have a kid that has a hard time understanding the word 'no', they'll enjoy this story. Mo has lots of stories featuring Pigeon, but this one is the first.
Overall, this is a fun interactive story that proves sometimes the simple ideas work the best, and the first in an award-winning series
