Rowley Jefferson takes centre stage over Greg in a diary of his own.
For the past 13 books, everyone's favourite wimpy kid, Greg Heffley, has been recounting his middle school misadventures in his diary for us to enjoy.
In this latest book by Jeff Kinney though, it's time to hear from someone new, as Greg's best friend, Rowley Jefferson, has got a diary of his own so he can be just like Greg.
When Rowley shows off his new diary to Greg, Greg is initally annoyed that Rowley copied him. but quickly comes up with a good idea.
Greg tells Rowley that he can be the first one to write Greg's biography, as Greg thinks that everyone will want to know his life story once he becomes rich and famous.
But it soon becomes clear that Rowley isn't the best person for this task, and the biography soon turns into a jumbled mess. Will Rowley be able to fix it? And if he can, what will Greg's reaction be?
If your kids are fans of the main Diary of a Wimpy Kid series, then they'll enjoy this story.
Rowley has a lot of funny stories to tell about his friendship with Greg that kids will enjoy reading about, from the time that Greg came up with the Good Boy Award system in an attempt to trick Rowley into doing his chores for him. to the time the two of them created their own superheroes.
Also just like the other Wimpy Kid stories, there are plenty of Jeff's stick-figure illustrations that kids will enjoy as well, like when Greg loses his temper playing Twisted Wizard and throws his controller at the wall, or when Rowley accidentally pulls Greg into a big puddle.
There's also a surprise in store for Wimpy Kid fans as well, as Rowley has included a bunch of his Zoo-Wee-Mama cartoon strips (which fans will remember from the first Wimpy Kid story) for kids to enjoy as well.
Overall, this is another funny story from a talented author, and a great extension to Greg Heffley's world.
