An explosive and contemporary thriller with a lot of relatable themes.
Note: This book is recommended for readers aged 16 and over.
Reasons: Violence, offensive language, sexual references and mature themes.
Georgia lives in London, is a model student, and has placed first in several drone racing championships. But everything changes for her after her older sister Sophie commits suicide.
Julius lives in Nigeria and is happiest hanging out with his boyfriend Duke. But corruption and violence during the city's elections put both their relationship and lives on the line.
Neither of them realise it yet, but they're about to change the world.
If your kid's already read Robert Muchamore's other thriller novel (Killer T), then they'll enjoy this one.
Prior to writing it, Robert was in a very bad part of his life himself (he explains this properly in his introduction), and this book helped him tell the story of his recovery process and the people he met who helped him.
Teenage readers will enjoy this latest offering from Muchamore, especially since it touches on themes such as protest, sexuality, and flawed leadership, which today's teens will be able to relate to.
It isn't all serious though, as there are some touches of humour, as well as a couple of references to Robert's two other main series (CHERUB and Rock War), which avid Muchamore fans should be able to spot if they look carefully.
Overall, this is another riveting story from Muchamore, and a must-read for fans of this author.
